TEAGUES BRIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL / FAMILY SUPPORT & WELLBEING
A little help.
A brighter tomorrow.
Family life can sometimes be challenging. Whether you're looking for practical advice, support with your child's wellbeing or someone to talk to, we're here to listen and help you explore the support available.
Early Help is about providing support as soon as difficulties emerge, working together with families to make a positive difference before problems become more difficult to manage.
01 / HOW WE CAN HELP
You don't have to have all the answers.
Sometimes, knowing where to start is the hardest part. Our Early Help Offer brings together practical, emotional and educational support for children and families.
It might be a small piece of advice, some additional support in school or help accessing services beyond the classroom.
OUR APPROACH
Listen first.
Understand together.
Find the right support.
Review what helps.
Every family is different. We work with you to understand your circumstances and identify what might make a positive difference.
02 / OUR EARLY HELP OFFER
Support for children and families.
Our Early Help Offer covers a wide range of needs. We've grouped the support into five areas to make it easier to find the information that's relevant to your family.
01
Family life and practical support.
Practical advice and assistance that can help make everyday family life a little easier.
02
Learning and school life.
Helping children feel confident, included and supported in their learning and daily school routines.
03
Health and emotional wellbeing.
Supporting children's emotional development, wellbeing and access to appropriate health services.
04
Additional needs and specialist services.
Working with families and specialist professionals when a child or family may benefit from further advice or targeted support.
05
Safety, behaviour and community support.
Helping children and families feel safe, supported and connected to appropriate services.
Support will depend on your family's circumstances and the availability or eligibility criteria of individual services. Our staff can help you explore suitable options.
03 / UNDERSTANDING EARLY HELP
What happens when you ask for help?
Early Help often begins with a conversation. We listen to what's going well, understand any concerns and work with you to decide what support might be helpful.
STEP 01 / CONVERSATION
Let's talk.
Speak with a member of our safeguarding team about what is going well and what support your family might need.
STEP 02 / ASSESSMENT
Understand together.
An Early Help Assessment may help build a fuller picture of your family's circumstances, strengths and areas where additional help could be useful.
STEP 03 / SUPPORT PLAN
Move forward.
If appropriate, everyone involved works together on a support plan, which is reviewed to make sure the right help is in place.
04 / YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Understanding the process.
Select a question to read more about what Early Help may involve for your family.
What is an Early Help Assessment? An Early Help Assessment (EHA) helps us understand your family's circumstances, what is working well and where additional support may be useful.
It starts with a conversation with one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads. You can choose whether to take part and who else you would like to be involved.
What does the assessment help us do?The assessment can help you:
- Recognise what's going well in your family.
- Identify areas where you may need support.
- Build a shared understanding of your circumstances.
- Bring together people who can work towards the same goals.
With your permission, professionals working with your family may share relevant information and coordinate support. This could include school staff, Family Hubs practitioners, health visitors or the school nurse. A support plan meeting may then be arranged.
What is an Early Help Support Plan? The support plan brings together the family and professionals involved to agree what help is needed and what everyone will do.
The plan is reviewed regularly to check progress and ensure the support remains appropriate.
Who is the lead worker? The lead worker is someone chosen to help coordinate support. This may be the professional your family sees most often or feels most comfortable speaking with. They help arrange reviews and provide a point of contact if you have questions or concerns.
05 / SPEAK TO OUR TEAM
