Base 7 - The Beluga Whales
Hello and welcome to Base 7’s page! Our class teacher is Mr Smith.
In Base 7, we like to enjoy learning and always make sure to try our best. We make sure we ‘believe in ourselves’ and work together to achieve our targets. Children are encouraged to explore their passions and foster a love for learning mentality.
Reading is a huge focus at Teagues Bridge Primary School. We encourage the children to read their reading book along with books that spark their interest- this can all be recorded in their reading diary. We have dedicate personal reading time every day so if your child has a particular interest encourage them to bring a book they will enjoy!
Our love to read book this term is ‘The BFG' by Roald Dahl. The children have expressed their excitement to read this book. Each day we will read a quality picture book in our reading for pleasure sessions, which all children look forward to at the end of the day.

Value of the Season
The value of the month is Hope. Base 7 have been developing their understanding of hope and perseverance - especially through challenging times. We have also focused on the importance of being respectful of others.
Respect is the most important value at Teagues Bridge as every child must feel respected and safe within school. Every term we will have a Respect Raffle where children who have earned Respect Raffle Tickets can be entered to win amazing prizes.
Term Theme
This term our topic is Climate Change.
Throughout this topic, the children will focus on answering the questions:
What are the Polar regions and what is it like there?
How are the Arctic and Antarctic different?
What is life like for humans in the Polar Regions?
What is climate change and its impact on the polar regions?
How has climate change impacted our local area?
How can we reduce the impact of climate change?
What is Sustainability and how can it impact the environment?
In Science, Base 7 will be learning about Evolution and inheritance. Within this topic, the children will study how animals have changed over generations, adapting to their environments in different ways. It will look at characteristics that are inherited from parents and the relationships between generations.
